Towing Capacity

The Explorer can tow up to 5,000 pounds with the right equipment. The performance-focused Mach-E isn’t recommended for towing.

Features and Amenities

The Explorer has been fully redesigned for the 2025 model year and features new available multicontour, massaging front seats. Luxe available features for both SUVs include ambient lighting and leather upholstery. The Explorer has standard three-zone automatic climate control, with a dual-zone system for the Mach-E. The Explorer also has a power-adjustable driver’s seat, and both models offer standard push-button start.

Additional options for both SUVs include a panoramic moonroof, heated front seats, and a heated, leather-wrapped steering wheel. You can also get ventilated front seats for the Explorer. The 2025 Explorer offers a standard power liftgate and side roof rails. You can get an optional power liftgate for the Mustang Mach-E.

Both models feature the Ford Co-Pilot360 driver assistance suite. The Mustang Mach-E includes a standard 360-degree camera, offered only on higher trims of the Explorer.

Infotainment Tech

Both models give you a standard six-speaker stereo or a 10-speaker Bose premium audio system. The Explorer also offers an optional 14-speaker Bose stereo system. The Mustang Mach-E has a standard 15.5-inch touchscreen with a 10.2-inch digital gauge cluster. In the Explorer, you’ll find a 12.3-inch touchscreen and a 13.2-inch digital gauge cluster.

Each SUV provides wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto across the lineup. You’ll have eight USB ports in the Explorer and four in the Mach-E.
