Date Night Ideas in Summersville, West Virginia

It’s important to get out and enjoy some quality time with your partner, whether you’re recently dating or have been married for years. There are plenty of things to do without driving too far for those who are more of a traditional indoor date couple. Outdoorsy couples have several local great date options as well. If you’re looking for something to do next time you get some alone time, here are four date ideas in Summersville, West Virginia.

1. Grab Dinner

Summersville is home to several great restaurants for your next date night meal. Stop by Maloney’s Pub at 603 Church St. for lunch or dinner. Their menu consists of traditional pub-style food such as loaded nachos, Buffalo chicken dip, and traditional wings. They also offer a delicious steak, tasty grilled salmon, and a variety of delectable sandwiches. 

Or head over to Alfredo’s at 1210 Wall St., where you can order some garlic knots or breadsticks to start your meal and then enjoy some of their divine pasta. They have manicotti and lasagna, and if you’re feeling pizza, they have that too. There are several other restaurants around town where you can enjoy an intimate meal with your special someone, but these are a couple of our favorites. 

2. See a Movie

What better way to finish off a great dinner than with a movie? At Nicholas Showplace, there is always a great variety of new movies playing. Ranging from horror to romance to comedy, you can cozy up next to your favorite person, grab some popcorn and a drink, and enjoy the evening. They also play seasonal movies for Halloween and Christmas, so you can get into the holiday spirit. Movies are great at home, but they’re even better in the theater. 

3. Do Some Wine Tasting 

At Kirkwood Winery, you can enjoy an afternoon and some of the area’s finest wines and whiskeys. Take a tour of the vineyard, Isaiah Morgan Distillery, and the winery every day of the week, except Jan. 1 through March 31. Grab a cheese plate to enjoy while you take your tour and sip their housemade wines. Visit the Country Store to pick out some wine to take to savor at home. They also have a wide selection of treats such as salsas, jellies, candles, and many more handmade items. You can find Kirkwood Winery at 45 Winery Lane. 

4. Spend the Weekend on the Gorge

This idea is a perfect way to celebrate an anniversary or other momentous occasion. Adventures on the Gorge is a beautiful weekend retreat where you can relax, explore, and make memories that will last forever. It’s located just outside of Summersville in Lansing. Take one of their TreeTops Zipline Canopy tours, try whitewater rafting, or go for horseback rides. They have beautiful cabins with views and just the right amount of space.
